Uncharacteristic Service from Maelstrom Games

Or I should say, uncharacteristicly stellar service.

I’ve been a customer of Maelstrom Games for a good number of months now, ever since I started my miniature wargaming hobby early this year.

They offer fantastic prices, often 15% off the MRSP, and free delivery worldwide for all orders above 10 pounds. The latter was the main attraction for me, since most other companies charge at least $20 just for shipping alone.

But “cheap” often comes at a price, and in this case it was speed.

My orders from Maelstrom typically takes a good number of days to be processed, and after that I usually need to wait for 2 whole weeks before finally receiving the goods. That’s a total wait of almost 3 weeks from the time my credit card is charged, till ultimate delivery.

But something unbelievable just happened to me.

I had put in my order last Friday, 28th August 2009.

The Maelstrom guys pleasantly surprised me by having this order shipped out under 12 hours from receiving my order.

And then, I was absolutely stupefied when the postman came knocking on my door yesterday afternoon, carrying my parcel.

That was a mere 3 working days from when I had placed my order!

This kind of blazing speed is something I’d expect from DHL or FedEx, and even then only after dishing out dozens of dollars for their express option.

I’m seriously thinking that maybe this was an error on their part or something.

In any case, I’m a happy man!
